1. Using Flash and ActionScript 3.0
Introduction to AS3
Classes, packages, imports and splitting your scripts up.
2. ActionScript Game Elements
"Game Elements" such as timers, collisions, keyboard and mouse interaction
3. Basic Game Framework: A Matching Game
'Matching Pairs of Cards' game. Enhancing the game with a timer, card reveal animation, scoring and sound effects
4. Brain Games: Memory and Deduction
Creating a Memory games
How arrays work than a fully fledged game?
5. Game Animation: Shooting and Bouncing Games
Time Based animation (vs. event/frame based).
Creating a simple shoot-em-up and a Breakout game
6. Picture Puzzles: Sliding and Jigsaw
Bitmaps and manipulating them (demonstrated via a Sliding Puzzle and Jigsaw games)
7. Direction and Movement: Space Rocks
Introduces rotation and the math involved
Enhancing an Air Raid game to create a basic Asteroids clone
Using pretty basic trigonometry (sin/cos)
8. Casual Games
Creating a point burst effect.
Making a Bejewled style game
9. Action Games: Platform Game
Controlling a character
Run and jump
Collect a couple of items
Find the Exit & Win
